He loved sitting by the campfire listening to Pirate games and drinking wine. He spent many mornings at Shawnee State Park fishing in his boat on the lake. He also enjoyed gardening and canning. He was well known for his garlic and hot peppers. He enjoyed playing pinochle every Thursday night with his good friends at the Assunta Club, where he was a member for many years.
