Deborah L. King, 56, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Friday, Sept. 19, 2014, in UPMC Shadyside, after a courageous seven-year fight with cancer. She was born July 9, 1958, a daughter of the late Walter and Dolly Hudec Remaley. A 1976 graduate of Southmoreland High School, she earned her associate degree from Westmoreland County Community College, and was employed by the Greensburg Bureau of Disability Determination Office for 36 years. She was a member of Alverton Methodist Church, where she served as a trustee. Surviving are her husband, Anthony C. King, whom she married on Oct. 28, 1978; her children, Anthony L. King, of Virginia, and Courtney M. King and fiance, Paul Scarsella Jr., of Pittsburgh; two brothers, Donald Dean Miller and wife, Verla, and Denny Remaley and wife, Terri, both of Mt. Pleasant; two sisters, Dana Lopes and husband, Louie, of Fredericksburg, and Anita Guckert and husband, Jack, of Hunker; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased, in addition to her parents, are a brother, Wally Remaley, and a sister, Vicki Remaley. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the SALOOM-REGA FUNERAL SERVICE, 730 W. Main St., Mt. Pleasant, PA 15666, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, with the Rev. Thomas Shirer officiating. Interment will follow in Alverton Cemetery.
